WOW!!!!

We fundraised over our goal which was $75. Our final outcome was $114.60, we were really amazed that we raised that much. E.B thought that we would raise $20 from the bake sale, A.C thought we would raise $55 and J.F thought we would raise around our goal. We would like to thank the students and teachers who bought and baked the goodies. The Save the Kiwi Fund will be able to make a difference with your help.

Our Natural Icon

The kiwi is our nation icon. This precious bird is slowly becoming extinct by stoats, dogs and humans!

The very small little spotted kiwi is unable to withstand preditaion by pigs, stoats and cats, which has led to its extinction on the mainland.
About 1350 remain on kapiti island and it has been to other predetor-free islands.Females weigh 1.3kg. She lays 2 eggs which are kept warm by the male.
